Exporters of agro aquaculture products are finding it difficult to seek out new markets.
Last month’s export earnings only reached US$1.7 billion, making a total turn over for the first 7 months slide to US$9.1 billion, a fall of 5.23 percent from the same period last year.
The highest drop in exports were in wooden products, followed by aquaculture. Only rice has witnessed signs of recovery.
More than 2.2 million tonnes of fertiliser were imported, a year on year increase of 35 percent. Other imported goods including wood, pesticides and wheat also grew in volume.
