Friday, Brazil's statistical office IBGE announced that the national index of consumer price large, IPCA rose 0.24% month-on-month in July, slower than the 0.36% increase in the previous month. Economists' were looking for an increase of 0.28%.
Year-on-year, the IPCA increased 4.5% in July, compared to the 0.53% growth in a year ago. Economists' had expected an increase of 4.54%.
Meanwhile, the National Index of Consumer Prices or INPC rose 0.23% on a monthly basis in July, compared with a 0.42% increase in June. On an annual basis, INPC rose 4.57% in July versus 0.58% increase last year.
